Climbing Haikus

by Unknown

December 29, 2001

Dark green glossy leaves
Rub up against my new rope.
Pass the Caladryl!

Yawning death abyss
Slopes of slippery talus.
Who has the guidebook?

Red plastic sloper
Rejects my grip instantly.
Below, he cackles.

No skin on my hands
Tweaked tendons, rocks hit my head.
How I love to climb!

Through clouds the ice edge
Rises like hope resurgent
But can I follow?
