Ksenia Sdobnikova of Russia and Daniel Dulac of France win the second stage of the Ice World Cup 2002 in Val Daone,Italy. Second places go to Kirsten Buchmann of Germany and Will Gadd from Canada (pictured at left) and third places to Ines Papert of Germany and "Harry" Harald Berger from Austria.

Last weekend, the second stage of IWC2002 took place on a new area in Val Daone, Italy. Half a kilometer far from last years place, Maurizio Gallo and his team created an incredible structure with the height of about 20 meters. The kind of competition was more or less boulder. It's toprope climbing with long endurance routes. On a seperate "mushroom" we saw the first real "boulder" in men's semifinal: climbing without rope - it was really great, and it worked perfect, without danger for the climbers! The next competition in the series will be this Friday in Saas-Fee, for the 3rd stage of IWC2002.
