Climbing permits issued by Nepal spring 2001

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has granted permission to 22 teams for carrying out mountaineering expeditions for 6 different mountains from 11 different countries of the world in the Spring season (March 1st to May 31st) 2001.

Ten mountaineering teams have been given permission to climb Sagarmatha from south east ridge route.

Similarly the Ministry have given climbing permission to 5 teams to Mt.Makalu (8463m), 4 teams to Mt.Amadablam (6812m), one team each to Mt.Himlung (7126m) and Mt.Kangtega (6779m), and Malaslu (8163m).

22 teams are from 11 different countries of which 5 teams are from USA, 4 teams are from Spain, 2 teams each are from Austria, Chile, Japan and India, and 1 team each are from Australia, France, Germany, Poland and UK.
