Camp4 - Climbing News Archive

Friday, September 17th, 5-10pm

It's time to cleanup our Mountain Parks, party with friends, and score booty. This year it is going to be SPLITTER!

The TRASH BASH starts with the raffle registration at 5:00pm (after work), at the Flagstaff Mountain Summit (Stone Shelter at the Amphitheater Parking). If you are running late, come anyway.

After the trash cleanup we’ll eat, drink, tell lies, and give away a HUGE pile-o-stuff from our sponsors while groovin’ to funkalitious tunes by Uncle L – “Future of the Phunk”. Be prepared for Trash Trivia and other silly/random awards.

This year we expect one hundred fifty volunteers, and are expanding the goals of the event to include trail restoration, re-vegetation, and environmental education, in addition to the trash cleanup and recycling efforts. Colorado congressman Mark Udall, and other political dignitaries may also make an appearance.

Bring work gloves if you have some, and warm clothes for later. Bring your friends and car pool, run, bike, or crawl there if possible. The parking fee will be waived for out of town volunteers.

Last years over $6,000 in products/services was contributed by the following sponsors:
The Flatirons Climbing Council (FCC), La Sportiva, Rockies Brewing Company, CamelBak, Starbucks, Kelty, Lowe Alpine, ClifBar, KT's Barbeque, Roca Ropes, TRANGO, Metolius, The Access Fund, The Spot Gym, Boulder Rock Club, Paradise Rock Gym, Mountain Miser, EMS, Wilderness Exchange, Bent Gate, Mountain Sports, Neptune Mountaineering, REI, Vic's Coffee, SharpEnd Publishing, Alpinist Magazine, Climbing Magazine, Rock & Ice, Black Diamond, Ethos Slack Lines, Climb High, Mammut, American Alpine Club, American Mountain Guides Association, IMBA, Powerbar, BitterSweet, Saltic, MadRock, Gore, and others.....

It'll be happening. Be there and cleanup!
“The Trash Bash is fun” – Wylie, Age 6

Directions to the Flagstaff TRASH BASH:
Take Baseline Road west. Where Baseline meets the foothills it turns North and becomes the Flagstaff Mountain Road. Go about three miles up Flagstaff Road, take the one and only right on the Flagstaff Summit Road and follow it to the Flagstaff Summit parking lot. The Stone Shelter is west of the lot by about 100 yards.
