The Boulder Adventure Film Festival and Dirt Days premiers April 23rd, 24th and 25th at the historic Boulder Theater and Central Park in Boulder, Colorado. The film festival is an international forum for the most inspiring independent films of the year. These films encompass all aspects of adventure, from serious exploration to environmental heroism, to gripping tales from activists and adventurers. Dirt Days is the festivalís Earth Day adventure fair hosting athletic challenges, equipment clinics, educational demos and keynote speakers.

This festival was created by adventurers and filmmakers in order entertain, educate and inspire. To acknowledge and spread the creativity, enthusiasm, and activism inherent in Adventure is the mission. The main beneficiary of this yearís events is CityWild (Wilderness Institute of Leadership Development, www.citywild.org), an organization providing underserved Denver/Boulder youth with experiential and outdoor learning opportunities.

There is sport involved. The Dirt Days Adventure Challenge, happening on Saturday the 23rd of April, consists of multiple legs (run, balance, climb and cast) for which awards are given to winners of individual legs as well as for overall performance in the entire Dirt Days Challenge. This event is open to the public but will feature pros and guides as well. Participants register for the Dirt Days Adventure Challenge on the website (www.boulderadventurefilm.com) via PDF form and at Central Park (SE corner of Broadway and Canyon) on Saturday, April 23. Footage of the Adventure Challenge will be shown at the Film Festival where awards will be presented.

Presenting Films and Activities that span the range of human endeavor from ocean to mountain to extreme perspectives, the Boulder Adventure Film Festival and Dirt Days staff believes in the power of the story, especially the narrative of adventure and awakening, to change and challenge the world we live in.
