Germany's Robert Jasper has made the first ascent of Tomahawk (M10+/11) in the Berner Oberland, Switzerland, another contender for the "world's hardest" mixed route (see "M-Bubu" story). Prior to this ascent Jasper made a second-try ascent of the second pitch of Stevie Haston's The Empire Strikes Back, downrating it from M11 to M10+, and feels Tomahawk is harder. Climbed without leashes, it also proved quite dangerous. On one attempt Jasper's tool flew from his hand like a tomahawk and nearly scalped a spectator.
