If you don't already know, Duane Raleigh and Quent Williams left Climbing magazine in April because they had purchased Rock & Ice Magazine under the incorporation of Big Stone Publishing. They moved the entire operation to Carbondale, Colorado right across from Climbing magazine's headquarters, and six other Climbing magazine employees quit to join the Big Stone Publishing team at the new Rock & Ice headquarters.

"Climbing magazine publisher Primedia has filed a lawsuit against its main competitor and two employees, contending the defendants have attempted to 'cripple' the 51,000 circulation monthly.

The suit, filed Monday, June 10, in Colorado's District Court in Denver, is seeking in excess of $75,000. Big Stone Publishing, which puts out Rock & Ice magazine, is named along with its publisher Duane Raleigh and production manager Quent Williams --both of whom are former Climbing magazine employees."

"Before leaving Climbing, Raleigh allegedly recommended that Primedia begin printing the magazine on paper of lesser quality--a recommendation Primedia ultimately rejected, and is now claiming to have been a conspiracy by Williams and Raleigh to alienate subscribers."
